A Little Diamond In The Rockies!
I was very pleasantly surprised that my suite at the Tonquin Inn was comparable to that of a former employer’s boutique lodge, at a fraction of the price.
As a Jasper resident and hotel employee (different hotel chain) over 20 years ago, I chose the Tonquin Inn after the tragic Jasper Wildfire destroyed the Tonquin’s sister hotel this July, returning to support the town I love.
I arrived early after a three day train journey, delighted by the warm welcome and hot cocoa I received from the Front Desk Supervisor Jennifer and Front Desk Agents Anmol and Abby.
While my room was being readied for early check-in (arranged prior to my arrival), the staff graciously offered me pool and hot tub access which I thoroughly enjoyed, golden mountain morning light streaming onto the pool as I swam.
Refreshed and glowing, I returned to the front desk to find the lovely staff had generously upgraded me to a queen fireplace suite (free fire log per day and laundry included). Having a three night stay, I was thrilled by this surprise.
My suite had it all; weathered wood dining set and living room table, deep turquoise wall colour echoing the local lake and river colours, featuring a handcrafted driftwood wall sculpture (and of course, the fireplace warmed the suite at all times I was present). Extra fire logs were delivered for a small fee at a moment’s request.
The galley kitchen was appointed with a full-size stainless refrigerator and white stove, marble countertop and cutting board, beautiful taupe Nordic-patterned mugs, a dinnerware set for four, stainless cutlery, wine glasses, cooking implements, pots and a pan, brand new water jug, a toaster, kettle and coffee maker with the hotel’s own coffee brand, “WickedCup”, in decaf and dark roast blends, as well as hot cocoa and tea. There was also a dish rack, new sponge, mini dish soap, with salt and pepper shakers nestled cutely in a fresh tea towel.
The sparkling white bathroom was stocked with all amenities, a hair dryer, marble sink, luxurious towels and a deep soaker tub.
The turquoise and white bedroom featured large windows overlooking massive pines, with beige blackout curtains, iron and board, an extra pillow and soft, cozy blanket, a beautiful new queen bed with three plump pillows and crisp linens, framed by an iconic Spirit Island portrait. I had a deep, perfect sleep all three nights.
In summary, I absolutely loved my three-night rejuvenation at the Tonquin Inn, and will be returning for a repeat as soon as possible.

We will be back!
We had such a great one night 2 day get away!
We took the MagicBus and stayed at the Tonquin In ! The room was perfect for us, check in was quick and easy! The pool was a hit with my son! We will be back for sure!!! The adults hit the hot tub! Love how central and easy it is!

We really enjoyed it. As friends going the room was perfect for 2 people. Clean, no frills, restaurant was amazing and outdoor hot tub was great after skiing.

Amazing stay in a two bedroom executive suite! Lots of room for the family, and such a relaxing feeling. Will be booking Room 100 again in the near future!

A Five Star Stay in Jasper @ the Tonquin Inn
Clean, comfortable and an affordable good night's sleep that is an easy walk to downtown Jasper. The pool was crystal clean, the outdoor hot tubs were in stellar shape and the tea bar upon arrival was a welcome treat post a long drive. My stay was so good, it was only a week later that I choose to stay here again. Highly recommended for those looking for a great place to stay while experiencing Jasper or snowboarding at Marmot Basin.
