Relaxation in beautiful nature

Two years ago we came here for dinner and immediately fell in love with this place. That's why we've now spent a few nights here. From here you can easily make trips to the sights in the area and even to the Meteora monasteries. The forests are also ideal for hiking. The hotel is lovingly decorated with lots of details. The room is comfortable, very clean and was already preheated for us. The terrace has a wonderful view of the river and the green, wooded mountains. The owner is exceptionally friendly and helpful, as are the other staff. We also love the food here and the extensive breakfast. Very, very tasty. We will definitely come back.

not recommended stay

It’s a traditional stay on the mountain BUT the room we stayed in was not clean we found hair everywhere and the bedsheets had stains on them on a level that you were disgusted just by sitting on them. The breakfast which was 7€ per person was definitely not worth those 7€! It was empty the bread was stale and old. Also they haven’t made enough for all the people staying there so at a time it just emptied completely. In addition a waitress picked up a napkin that had fallen down on the dirty floor and put it right back with the clean ones like nothing happened. Overall not recommending this lodging and it’s definitely not worth the price. The average price for every night I believe should have been around 50-60€ and not 90€

A secluded hotel in a wonderful environment, with a small star but...

The hotel carefully cared for its details, very clean, over the river and surrounded by the forest. But when you meet all of this in a real earthly paradise, the slightest misunderstanding leaves you a bitter taste because it just blackens you a little the beautiful image. And the reason I will mention it is because you really look crazy, a lot of work and a lot of effort behind this whole hotel. The hotel offers breakfast and even certified with the Badge ""Greek Breakfast"", which was also one reason we made the reservation, because this is exactly what a visitor who comes in a virgin and untouched by its massive area such as the Greene. Two times we had breakfast, on the first day the only traditional product was sheep butter and ⁇ the three james, all the rest were frozen supermarket products (sorry if I miss something other traditional), when everything should be local products or at least majority. On the second day, things were better in the availability of local products (e.g. bacina ) but still abstained from what was supposed (there is such a wide variety of cheeses the area, never appeared in the morning ..).

CONTRIBUTION CONFORMITY

The owners of the hotel miserable , kicked us out of the pool , with the excuse that we did a hassle while it was 5:10 , while we paid he stunned my friend and after he threatened he hit him with force in his already beaten leg after just waiting for his change and looked him in the eyes , unacceptable behavior I do not recommend it TO NONE!!

La Moara Boutique Hotel: an unpleasant experience filled with rudeness

The staff/owners were very impolite, even rude. They cheated us on the selection of rooms, which meant that instead of a standard double room that we had booked before arrival we ended up to a large family room for six persons because as we were informed by phone an hour before arrival, they could not proceed with the Credit Card. So instead of informing us as soon as they found a problem with our card, they chose to give our room to others before calling us on the phone the day before arrival. We were informed of the problem only after we started driving in the roads of Pindos, so we thought that we would sort the credit card problem upon arrival. No, they did not wait for our arrival. They went ahead and changed our bookings. Being on the road for five hours to reach the mountains “in the middle of nowhere” it is too difficult to find another hotel, as we were not alone. There was another couple also in our company that them too did not get the room they had booked but at least they were charged the same price. For us instead of €85 they charged us €135 that we ended up paying (no question upon a reduction) having no alternative. The owners were very rude when we complained for no previous information given upon the change of our original booking. To be fair, although they gave the choice to leave they knew that we would stay as it was too late in the afternoon to look for another accommodation in the distance of at least 45’, and also because they had already charged our friends for their accommodation. So we had to stay and paid the extra charges for this stuffy ugly room.
As if this was not enough the room that we were given (Room 12) was a quite unpleasant surprise as it had no windows to air the space of appr. 40 sq.m. The room had a very nice big window as entrance and when it was open it was really nice. However as you cannot leave the room open when sleeping or when leaving, the room was stuffy which was very unpleasant. We looked for windows to air the space, but to our surprise there were only two very small windows high on the wall and one equally small window in the toilet, all of them difficult to reach. So, as we entered we felt immediately unpleasant smell of a stuffy room. Sleeping in the mountain in a stuffy room was not what we expected from a certified Boutique Hotel. On top of that, the fridge (which was not connected to the electricity, so no fresh water provided) was old and the door would not close properly, the pillows were stuffed with crumbled polyester filling, the bedding was outdated, the decoration was bad with plastic flowers, the walls were painted in dark haunting colours and design, the carpet was never cleaned, the bath towels were overused, there was no towel for the feet outside the douche area. As for the mini bar, nothing but only paper cups so no coffee could be prepared in the room. There were no glasses, not even in the bathroom. Only paper cups.
Breakfast! There was a certification that they serve Greek Breakfast. The only tasty thing was their marmalades. All the rest were not “edible”. The pitas were tasteless very thin in filling and cold, the cheese as bought from the cheapest supermarket, no fruits, no fresh juice, no warm freshly baked croissants (which are not Greek but this is what they provided), no tsoureki which at least fits with the certified Greek breakfast, and the omelette was scarce. They were preparing too little amount for the guests, so you had to wait and - for the polite ones - to take only one spoonful in order to be enough for the other guests.
Upon leaving we paid by Debit Card and we only realized that we were never given a receipt - only the one of the debit card - was too late.
I would never ever go back there, not even if my wallet was left behind!
An appalling experience that gets even worse when I read the impolite replies of the owners to guests when they give their opinion in writing. I wonder how this hotel was certified by Boutique Hotel GR. Have they ever visited the place? Have they ever tasted the Greek Breakfast? I wonder.
