Beautiful and clean

Beautifully clean and close to station and all amenities in the town, perfect place to stay. Friendly hotel and staff very easy to get in and out very secure. Well worth the money will definitely stay again and recommend to anyone.

Nicely renovated but minimal in-room facilities and hard to gain entry

Arriving after checkin had closed at 1900 hours, it was difficult to select the code for the lockbox as the light was inoperable.
A lady tried to assist but was also stymied but she somehow raised a guest who came down and assisted.
This was a major fail for any hotel.
My room was spotless but minimalist. It had a good Queen bed and doona/duvet and a choice of pillows, plus a bedside table and lamp.
The TV seemed defective. Perhaps a subscription had expired.
The small ensuite had a good shower but little space to store toiletries. It was clean.
The bedroom lacked a proper suitcasse shelf but there was a table of sorts, but no chairs.
The curtains did not properly block all light. The room lacked a safety deposit box.
Proprietor Pauline was pleasant.
There was a communal kitchen that had a fridge and washing machine.
The hotel is a five minute walk from Darlington railway station.

Great value for money

This hotel is great value for money. It could hardly be much closer to the railway station and a 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Friendly welcome on arrival. My room had been recently renovated so it was comfortable with good bathroom and lots of warm water. A bargain and ideal for my one night stay.

A must if you're on a budget and want a great location .

Great place. On the same street as the Station. Undergoing renovation. Really friendly welcome. Stayed overnight with friends. Great location, lovely clean rooms. A kitchen to make tea/coffee etc.
A few minutes walk to all of the local bars/restaurants/ shopping. Really good value for money. Would definitely stay again.

2 night stay with visit to york

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in room 17, up stairs, this was planned for Friday and Saturday night. We travelled by train and this property was conveniently located between the station and town centre. I received a call just as we were leaving home on the Friday to ask our estimated arrival time , we arrived about 16.30 and was met by 2 at reception , checked in easily but do require photo id , I had passport pictures on my phone which was adequate. We were lead up stairs and shown room 17 , which was clean and pleasantly decorated. The bathroom was next door and there is a communal kitchen available on the next floor. The bathroom and shower was clean and tidy and I would have no problem staying here again.
