Such a nice house, conveniently located on a street near the tram stop, making transportation easy. The staff is very friendly and provides information about local attractions and routes. Additionally, the snacks and drinks in your room and the public kitchen are all free. I would definitely visit again if I return to Edinburgh.: )

Inconsiderate owners and management

We live in the adjoining building to Pillars House. We moved in, and scaffolding went up. Owners show no consideration to those who live nearby and offer no communication whatsoever. Work is ongoing 7 days a week from 8am. Workers stand outside shouting all day, swearing in front of achool children passing by, and showing no consideration to those who live here. Workers stand inches away from our windows, shouting, making noise all day with no consideration. Blocking cars and taking over the area. No communication from owners and no efforts to minimise impact. I'm told work is planned for another 6 months. Surely it would make sense to engage with neighbours.

A little gem of a find. About 200 yards from the tram stop. Last minute booking due to train delays when we had to change our plans. The check in was great. Fridge in the room had been stocked with iron bru, water, milk, and breakfadt cakes. Lovely staff. Would certainly use this venue again.

I was using the property as a base for a two night stay. If you love your creature comforts this is not the place for you. However if you just want a bed at a very reasonable price in an historical building in a capital city this could be the place. Located close to the Port of Leith with a tram stop 200m from the property which gets you into the city centre in less than 20mins it is a great base to explore from.
