Ways you can check-in for your Philippine Airlines flight
As with most premier airlines, PAL offers it guests a variety of special services and options to check-in for their flight, including:
- Airport check-in via Express Counter and Early check-in
- Mobile check-in
- Online check-in
Things to take note at the airport
- At PAL counters, guests are requested check-in at least 2 hours before the departure time for domestic flights, and at least 3 hours before the flight for international flights.
- For those who have already checked-in online (mobile check-in or web check-in), you should be at the airport no later than 45 minutes before your departure time.
- Boarding gates for PAL fights close 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
- Check-in counters for Philippine Airlines close 45 minutes before your flight. If you are going to check-in after their cut-off time, you may not be allowed to fly, even with a confirmed booking.

PAL airport check-in
Want to check-in with PAL the traditional way? Here are a few things you should know when checking-in at the airport for your Philippine Airlines flight.
Early check-in
- For domestic flights, check-in counters at Ninoy Aquino International Airport are open as early as 01:30 AM, allowing guests to check-in the same day ahead of their scheduled flight.
- For international flights, check-in counters at Ninoy Aquino International Airport are open as early as 04:00 AM, allowing guests to check-in the same day ahead of their scheduled flight.
Express Counter
PAL has an express counter at the airport for senior citizens with up to a couple of passengers and traveling companions with no check-in luggage. PAL’s express counter is available on both domestic and international sectors from Mactan (Cebu) and Manila (NAIA2) airports. You can find these counters at the nearest entrance of the airport’s terminal building.
Airport check-in process
- Once you’ve arrived at the airport, look for your PAL check-in counter through its monitors.
- Follow all the security protocols inside the airport.
- Upon you arrival at the PAL check-in counter, line up and wait for your turn.
- Show your valid ID and PAL ticket to the agent at the check-in counter.
- Wait for the Philippine Airlines agent to print your boarding pass, with your seat number.
- Make your way to the designated boarding area.

Philippines Airlines online check-in
Wondering how to skip the check-in queues at the airport? Then, make sure to confirm your presence on your flight online with PAL’s online check-in. Not only will it allow you check-in early, but it also lets you pick your preferred seat before arriving at the airport.
Important notes
- Online check-in is available for all PAL domestic flights including PAL Express (2P operated flights). Likewise, it’s available for all international flights from Philippine Airlines, expect for those from Jinjiang (China), Xiamen (China), Chengdu (China) as well as Tagbilaran to Incheon (vice versa).
- Online check-in is available 24 hours to 1 hour before your scheduled departure time.
- Your specific seat request or reservation will be pre-selected, as you check-in for your PAL flight.
- Changing your seat arrangement is possible, even if you’ve already printed your boarding pass. On PAL’s online check-in page, select the “Select/Change Seat” option, and pick any available seat. Then, reprint the boarding pass that reflects your new seat assignment.
- You can’t reserve Premium seats, when you check-in online. You can only avail these seats at the airport’s Online Check-in Bag Drop Counter.
- You can check-in your travel companions (up to 15 people only), as long as you have the same booking reference.
PAL online check-in process

- Click “check-in”.
- Enter your booking reference number and last name.
- Follow the next steps.
- Download and print your boarding pass.
PAL online check-in is not allowed for the following
- Groups of over 15 passengers under one booking.
- Unaccompanied minors.
- Guests who need special or medical assistance.

Philippines Airlines mobile check-in (myPAL)
With myPAL, you can get a mobile boarding pass and confirm your presence on your flight, using only your mobile device. What’s more, the app can be used for a ton of other Philippine Airline services, including booking a flight, retrieving booking and knowing your flight status. PAL mobile check-in lets guests select their preferred seats before arriving at the airport (1 day to 2 hours prior to the departure time). This feature is available for:

Unlike the online option, changing of seat and reprinting your boarding pass aren’t allowed with this PAL check-in option.
