Business run by polite Family.
Quite place, full of bavarian religious symbols and puppets. Thankfully not in the rooms itself.

Traditional Bavarian hotel and restaurant in a good way

This is a traditional Bavarian small hotel.
The Manager was welcoming and printed off the evening menu in English for us.
The evening meal was cooked by Owner and was delicious.
Breakfast had a lot on offer.
The room was spacious and had a good sized bathroom. The terrace was a bonus.
Wifi was free.
If you want an overnight hotel near to Nuremberg and don't want the usual chain hotel. Experience this hotel.

Depressing

We wanted some change to find another place for a night on our trip down to Italy and we found this Gaesthouse in Obertrubach. Old fashioned hotel furniture ; years 1970! Need really a rehabilitation and refurbishement. Pity because is quite well located. Rooms a bit old and not exactly clean ( there were spiders in the bathroom!). Nice terrace however need some maintenance and cleaning. Good dinner even if it took a bit too long waiting time. Breakafst very good and varietty of food. Needs a bit of refresh!

Family pension

I use this hotel during a business trips.
It is older, simple. Service average. The restaurant ever serving in costumes. During the last visit if only in a T-shirt. I think, that hotel use pensioners.

Disappointing

We were looking forward to a wonderful stay after booking ahead. We were disappointed with the bed, and general comfort of the room. The mattress was hard. The shower or maybe the cistern, leaked. There was a permanent puddle on the floor between the toilet and the shower. The shower head height adjustment was broken. On a positive note, the staff was friendly, parking on site is great. The meal we had was nice. Breakfast is included.
