Quaint Inn in Salzburg

Herbert, the owner is awesome, friendly and very helpful. Speaks great English.
Bed is medium/firm. Pillows are very soft, no support.
Great shower, over the bath. We were in room 10.
Bus to old town stops very close and takes just 5 min, but it’s an easy walk.
Really lovely, basic, breakfast made by Herbert.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Truly wonderful

Not only was the Pension clean warm and well designed ... the host Herbert was execeptional.
His kindness and knowledge are second to none - not to mention his delicious breakfast.
I feel in love with Saltburg and a big part of this was due to staying at the Pension Herbert.
The location is brilliant !
So much so I’m already looking to book for next Summer.

Beautiful stay

Three of us shared the ground floor room of this beautiful house now converted to a Pension. Herbert is super helpful. He understood we were there for a super short visit and guided us to the right places to see, the streets to stroll down and where to have the best beer

Authentic Austrian Charm!

This is hands down the most charming hotel and family in Salzburg! When I come back one day I will absolutely stay here again. My husband, in-laws and I stayed here for two nights and from the moment we walked in we were treated like family. Herbert was so welcoming, enthusiastic and helpful (as was his wife, Rikki and his son). We stayed on the second floor where are rooms were quite spacious and each included its own bathroom. Clean sheet and towels were provided each day. Every morning we were invited to the dining room for a prepared breakfast. It was a wonderful spread of everything you could want - meats, cheeses, toast, fruit, coffee, tea, etc. One of the things that really sets our experience apart was Herbert's willingness to go the extra mile with everything and anything we needed. He was more than happy to share his list of "must see/must do" while in Salzburg and even worked out all the logistics for us. Our first night there he called ahead at a restaurant just down the street called Holle. Its a fantastic spot that a lot of locals patron and its where we enjoyed excellent service, food and drinks. Herbert was also kind enough to book us a spot on The Sound of Music Tour for the next day, setting us up with a shuttle service that picked us up right right at the hotel and brought us to downtown Salzburg. Probably one of the highlights of that day though ended up being this trail/restaurant Herbert told us about. The trail itself runs about the length of the city (and as promised) where you can get the most picture-perfect views. The trail then dead ends into this amazing old monastery turned restaurant - the Augustiner Braustubl - where we stayed for dinner. We ended back at Holle that night for some drinks and dessert. I could go on and on about our experience here at Hotel Pension Herbert. Thank you again to Herbert and his family for opening up their home and providing us with great memories!

Excellent location

This small family hotel has everything for a nice stay in Salzburg: you can park the car and either walk or take a bus which stops by the hotel. Owner will give you useful advices for the organization of your stay if you need them. Room we stayed in was nice - enough space, clean, comfortable with private bathroom. Herbert, the owner, will serve you breakfast - anything you wish, in a stylish porcelain plates and coffee cups. Highly recommended ,
