Hotel Don Fernando de Taos, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

This is a good hotel. Our room was quite spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. We liked the way it is set up. The hotel dining area is wonderful. The lobby is nice. The location is good - it is close to everything in Taos. We would stay there again without hesitation.

Somewhat nice but wouldn’t stay here again

First time stay at this hotel in Taos. My wife and I visit at least twice a year but decided to come to town early so we pick this place.
Walking into reception front desk I was very impressed as its beautiful decor.
Bar area has that rustic feel lots of art and beauty leads you into the bar and restaurant.
Picking our room was a bit weird as they are individual buildings with 8-10 rooms for each building. I figured I’d pick the building closest to the main building.
After pulling around I found a wide opened parking lot which concerned me as Taos can be known for some bad people and drugs. I know most towns have the same issue but because of how the place is laid out our car and a couple others were the only ones in the parking lot.
We decided to go have a few cocktails and then back to the room where shortly after our car alarm along with another vehicle started sounding off. I ran outside to check but did not see anything.
Not feeling comfortable in the room or for my car outside I really didn’t sleep.
Now the shower, you have a beautiful tile shower walls with an ugly fiberglass floor which took away from the walls. Now for something I’ve never seen in my life you have a glass shower where you can clearly see there once was a glass sliding door.
Our room had a shower curtain which for one was ugly but also spilled water all over the floor. The soap dispensers on the wall were place that each time I turned around I’d hit them with my elbows.
Wouldn’t stay again mainly for the safety factor. .

Really amazing, the staff, the service, the rooms, the restaurant was really great. I was there celebrating my best friend birthday, he is handicap and the room we use was perfect for him, 100% wheelchair accessible. Thanks to the hotel designer to add that big bathroom for handicap people. All others hotels around don't have that.

Excellent hotel in Taos . Well connected with the downtown and other attractions. Courteous staff . Beautiful ambience and decor. Room was spacious and high quality. Breakfast buffet had lot of options. Highly recommended.

We paid extra for breakfast and found out that morning that they were now serving a breakfast buffet… which they were charging $16 for!! Shocking because Ive had better breakfast for FREE at most hotels. It was BAD. I tried to eat it and has to pass. So my family and I had a muffin for $45.
