I was excited to stay at The Inn at Wise. I visited often as a child living in the area. The Inn used to be a grand place. Not so much now.
The Inn needs cleaning most of all. The walls and door frames were dirty, not worn, dirty. The floors were uneven and caused difficulty walking with a cane. The cabinet holding the TV in sitting area had its drawers standing open due to its leaning. The sitting area had no independent control for AC making the bedroom freezing just to be comfortable in sitting area.
My biggest concern is the lack of security. When I arrived found a sign telling me the clerk was away for 10 - 15 minutes. I would have been able to look at and go through anything there. There was no key control for access to the building from the parking garage.
The bright note of the visit was the free breakfast. It was fresh and had good offerings.

Situated in a prime location for visiting UVA Wise, The Inn At Wise offers convenient access to two great restaurants within walking distance. Nevertheless, the rooms are in need of renovation, and the mattresses lacked comfort. A pleasant breakfast was provided, but the loud wedding reception that extended beyond 10pm and disorderly guests in the hallways were significant concerns. Additionally, staff members were seen smoking/vaping near the main entrance.

I stayed for two nights. My bed was cozy. The room was clean. The bathroom was tidy and the shower was big. Breakfast was standard and tasty. Lots of little sitting areas to hangout and chat in.
My only complaint is my neighbor kept slamming their door and woke me early in the morning.

Disappointed! Lovely Hotel but I should have listened to the reviews:( 2 nights no shower! Water never got warm! Beware

Disappointed! Lovely hotel but 2 nights no shower; the water would not get hot no matter how long it run! First night we didn’t have enough bath/facial tissue to make it through the night! No one is ever available to speak with at the desk! Breakfast was poor quality! I thought the reviews would have been corrected per staff but obviously it was not! Always listen to the reviews!
