Very close to JR rail station. Even somebody with mobility issues could walk to it. Approximately 10 m from the exit.
This hotel was about 10 after walking out of the the station. There are all kinds of coffee shops and even a McDonald across the street for coffee. 2 stops on the Yamanote line and 2 on the chip line and you can be in Tokyo or back within about 25 minutes. We would stay here again. The room is a lot smaller than the advertising presents. There was no place to open luggage and we felt bad doing it in the white beds.
When looking for this hotel don’t look for the statue that is in the photos. In reality it’s really tiny and you could walk right past it. Just walk out and it’s right there. Beds were really firm but so far most of the beds we have come across here are that way. It’s also a personal choice so it is not fair to even comment on if that is a bad or good thing. The hotel is very updated. There are no shelving or drawers to place belongings so we lived out of our suitcase for 4 days. Again, that’s pretty normal as the don’t have the room. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors, cotton swabs, hair ties, comb, toothbrushes with paste were all in the room for us. There were no facecloths provided. Also there was a fridge with freezer. Teas were provided in the room (no coffee) as well as a hot water kettle.

A Disappointing Stay, Hidden Cracks on Guest Room Carpet; Would Not Recommend to Families with Small Kids and Elderly
I'll start with the pros:
PROS:
1. Convenience: The first pro is that the hotel is located in the heart of Tokyo's Ryogoku Neighborhood. Right outside is a street full of different eateries of all kinds. The Ryogoku neighborhood is a short train ride away from many of Tokyo's best attractions, including Tokyo Station, Tokyo Skytree / Oshiage, Ginza, and more.
2. Close to the Subway Station: The second pro is that the Ryogoku View Hotel is just a 2-3 minute walk from the Ryogoku Station, which is right across the street. The Ryogoku Station is served by both the Chuo-Sobu JR Line (JB) as well as the Toei-Oedo Subway Line (E). It was very easy to find the hotel and drag our luggages from the station.
3. Nice and Friendly Staff: The third pro are the nice and friendly staff that helped us at the front desk. They also have English-speaking staff on deck to help travelers who may not know how to speak Japanese.
4. Comfortable Beds and Noise: The fourth pro is that the beds were very comfortable sleeping on. The rooms felt very quiet at night, enabling us to sleep very well on the beds.
Now as to why this hotel did not get 5 stars, here are the cons
CONS:
1. Very Tight Rooms: The first con is that like many hotels in Japan, our rooms were very small and tight. I had a very hard time finding space to put my luggage down without blocking the walkway to and from our beds. There's barely any space to fit a chair by the desk.
2. Very Tight Lobby and Space Around the Hotel: The second con is the very tight space around the lobby and hotel in general. The lobby was very small and tiny. From the moment I entered the hotel, I saw the very small lobby and then the guest room elevators immediately. For families with kids, there's barely any room for the kids to roam around the lobby.
3. Bathroom: The third con was the bathroom. Unlike every other hotel I have stayed at, the bathroom lacked space that there was barely any room to store my toothbrush and dental things, very similar to the feeling of a cruise ship bathroom. I had to take my toothbrush and dental items to and from my luggage every night as there were no other places to store them. The bathroom was also a step above the regular room, making it harder to access the bathroom floor. It felt awkward with the bathroom being above the main room.
4. Lack of Options at the Breakfast: The fourth con was the lack of options at the breakfast. While the miso soup, rice, and pork bone soup were great, the breakfast lacked a good number of fresh fruit offerings. The fruit they served in my opinion did not taste the best. They only have a few drinks, water, pepsi, orange juice, oolong tea, coffee, and tea.
5. Room Presentation and Major Cracks in the Guest Room Carpet: The fifth con and I would say the most disappointing was that on the day we checked out, we found some major cracks in the carpet with some wires going under the carpet. I feel this con is very serious, especially for families with small children. The cracks and openings in the carpet can lead to children accidentially cutting themselves when sitting down to work at the very tight desk inside. I'm like "Why would they stick wires going through the carpet?"
Overall, with everything taken into account, would the cons prevent me from staying here again? Unfortunately, the cons would prevent me from staying here again. After feeling crammed inside our room and especially after seeing the cracks on the carpet, I would definitely recommend families with small children and elderly individuals to not stay here as the cracks in the carpet pose a significant safety hazard. If the cracks were not there, I would have given this hotel 3 stars. Other than the safety hazards the cracks impose, the cracks also put a big dent in the overall feeling and presentation of the room, making the room feel unfinished and like construction is still needed. Like I mentioned in a previous review, please do not sell me something you can't be proud of. This room I would say would be worth $70-$80 / night at most. There are other places around this similar price that have much better quality inside the rooms and around their properties. Won't be staying at hotel again for a while.
