Wonderful stay at Kiskenda Cottages
I booked directly with the hotel and was able to request (and receive) specific room requests.
I had a wonderful stay.
After a very long travel day I arrived during the middle of the night eager to get some sleep. I was greeted by a nice man who showed me to my room, which I LOVED. (#3)
I did find the bed hard, but I slept well each night I was there so it was fine. The room was spacious with a refrigerator, kettle, safe, and a gorgeous ceiling and perfect, private deck. They restocked with 2 waters daily which I found sufficient.
I loved starting my day on the balcony with tea and listening to birds wake up.
The grounds and pool were wonderful. I really enjoyed both. Lots of beautiful flowers and trees and chairs/umbrellas.
The included breakfast was a great surprise. I read some reviews and I didn’t have high expectations but I pleasantly surprised. A fruit plate with a choice of about 10 breakfast meals and fresh fruit juice and of course coffee tea. Their restaurant was quite nice, traditional style which I liked.
The hotels location was great. Lots of restaurants, shops, and spas close by and about a 15 walk would get you to Monkey Forest or Ubud Palace depending which way you turned.
I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Best for visiting Ubud
But:
- there is a safe
- the air conditioning and hot water work perfectly
- family room which is in fact two communicating rooms with large terrace and small private kitchen and each with its own bathroom
- beautiful swimming pool
- smiling and efficient staff
- possibility of having your laundry washed per kg in 24 hours or accelerated for a little more expensive
- well placed to visit Ubud on foot (see other posts)
- good savory or sweet breakfast with fresh fruit juice
All for €65 per night for both rooms!
