The bed and breakfast is located on a quiet, mostly pedestrian street with interesting wooden bridges. Guests have access to a private floor of the house, and can enjoy a daily breakfast in a cozy and well-designed space on the upper floor. Calm in the heart of Old Quebec

Remarkable site in a small street with little traffic and unique in its configuration and its charm. Immediate access (less than 10 minutes) to a wealth of views, attractions and restaurants. Our room overlooked the cliff: calm assured.
Smooth communication and exceptional welcome by the hosts, through their flexibility and the gourmet breakfasts.
On-site parking available and at a good price: a considerable advantage in Old Quebec.

wonderful location very friendly hosts I would stay here again

Stayed 5 nights in June, just before the City began to hop with tourists. The location is absolutely fantastic: in the middle of so many interesting old buildings in the lower town area, near the river too, down a winding interesting narrow street (Sous-le Cap)...if driving, make sure you get good directions. In the mornings we walked our dog down to a park at the river before breakfasts, which were always so delicious; everything was so quiet and lovely in the morning. The lower town/old port area has several very very good restaurants, too. It's a steep short climb to the main part of the Old City but after all the fantastic food...it's needed exercise. Our hosts, Francois and Martin, were so friendly and so helpful. We talked with them every morning during and after breakfasts, and they gave us solid tourist advice too, deeply appreciated. The roof-top terrace is super wonderful and relaxing; we ate take out there one night. Bed was comfy; however, room had only one chair so if the weather is bad...staying in the room will be "cosy'. Because of the super location and the very reasonable price, I chose this place despite the shared bathroom. The first two nights, the Japanese couple in the other room were so considerate, I barely noticed them using the bathroom. The second couple: her first question to me when we met was "when are you leaving?" What a character! She spent quite a bit of time in the bathroom and didn't tidy up the rug or shower curtain after, but Francois quickly did. The last couple: the man was angry that his wife had booked a shared bathroom and that was palpable...towel tossed on the floor. Anyway, it was kept very clean. It was so good to be able to bring our little dog with us without additional cost (he's non-shedding, so I resent being charged extra for him, when it happens); also was fun to interact with the hosts' playful little dog.

Was fun.

Good hosts and a good location. The dog is cute too. Martin helped push my car out which was nice. Breakfast was good all five days. Walking distance from everything at the bottom of the mountain. Views are of the mountain or the street to the south depending on the room.

Gite (B&B) is a 'jewel of a find!'

The Gite (B&B) du Vieux Port has it all: a charming Guesthouse with two genuinely kind, authentic and a very knowledgable bilingual host named Francois, and equally charming Martin, who compliment each another as each are gentle hosts, and a very cute schnauzer! All this and it is a perfect location,location,location too!
Breakfasts: this was a meal to look forward to that started with a wonderful selection of fruit on a platter (my favorite was the papaya and pineapple!), fresh orange juice,and the main dish which was French crepes with beautiful pear and blueberries, another day was a whole-wheat crepe topped with a French style omelette w Quebec cheese. AND the coffee was magic in the mornings. (one morning my coffee was sculpted by a ,merci Martin! )The breakfasts were made with care and it showed in their presentation. Every day we were surprised and delighted! Breakfast would carry us well into mid-afternoons when one must stop for a libation (naturallement!) of Cassis or an Aperol Spritz (two new favourites) . Charming Guesthouse: if you are looking for an authentic French lodging in the heart of the Old City, this is it! The two rooms have beautiful natural light, and are immaculately kept. Each one of the 2 rooms, only, each have their own charm. The rooftop terrace has a magnificent(!) container flower garden tended daily with love by Martin. Superb location: it's a beautiful walking city so bring good walking shoes, a must: the Chateau Frontenac is a 5-minute walk, Museum of Natural Civilization is a 3-minute walk, Musee des Beaux Arts is a 30-minute walk. We welcomed the walking because it helped us built our appetites for the delicious dinners and wine. We had a rental car that we used one time only to visit île d'Orleans (you must do!) .
We leave with such good memories and believe we experienced the best of Queb c City, all beginning with Gite Vieux-Port. Would we return? Yes! In a heartbeat.

The best place to stay in Quebec City

This B&B is the perfect place to stay for a Quebec City visit. The location is perfect, in Old Qc, walking distance to everything. The room was big, with great lighting from outside, super clean, with all you need in. The shared bathroom is spacious and always clean. The breakfast that was included was so delicious, probably best breakfast I had staying at a B&B ever. It is nice to talk with the hosts which are beyond nice ! The roof top terrasse is super lovely. I will for sure stay there again and suggest to everyone I know.
