Great Choice

This B and B had the coziest room an ensuite bathroom . It was very clean. The decor was suited to the antique feel. The breakfast was outstanding. There was a choice of 5 meals every morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was close to the Inner Harbour, Fishermans Wharf, James Bay.

Charming B&B, Friendly Staff

My husband, teenaged son, and I stayed her for a couple of nights while visiting Victoria this summer. It is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and well-presented. It is conveniently located and an easy walk to a grocery store and may points of interest. The staff was warm and genuinely friendly. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Inn and Great Location

The location was excellent. It was in easy walking distance to many restaurants, the inner harbor, the parliament building, Beacon Hill Park, downtown, Chinatown and fisherman’s wharf. The room and inn were beautifully decorated and quite charming. Breakfast was delicious as were the homemade muffins. It was definitely an ample breakfast and filled you up for your day. The artwork was spectacular. Apparently it was painted by the owner. I would definitely stay here again. Can’t recommend it enough.

This was our third stay at Marketa’s and we were greeted so warmly! Check in was easy and parking in the back. The breakfast was perfect and the girls made us again feel so welcome. Only issue for me was the shower head needs replacing as the water coming out was restricted. Otherwise a charming place to stay in James Bay😀

What I loved about this property was its uniqueness. It is very different to a normal hotel, much more of a BnB vibe, which is what it's classed as. What sold me on choosing this hotel was the pictures of the rooms, and let me tell you, they don't disappoint in person! We were very pleased with the all the rooms we saw, as well as the one we stayed in. It had a Jacuzzi in it too which was a happy surprise.
The breakfast was really good in the morning as well. They have a few people come and cook for you, as you choose from a small menu. We had the pancakes, which were delicious!
Three small downsides that I noted: 1) There were about 5 spots to park in the back of the house and it was very tight even with a compact car. Not too bad as there's parking on the street if needed, but you may walk a ways. 2) The house, while very charming being built in early 1900s, creaks like crazy! It honestly wasn't too bad but when we were trying to sleep it was noticeable. 3) The shower gets HOT, like SCALDING HOT, so be very careful.
All in all, a very fun experience. And Marketa, the owner, greeted us when we first got there and said goodbye when we left. Would stay here again and recommend it to you for a unique and memorable BnB experience.
