Lovingly restored guesthouse, convenient location.

This small guesthouse is just off one of the main streets in the medina but so quiet and peaceful. Just a handful of rooms with period details, run by an efficient and friendly local manager kebir. We stayed a week in fez. He booked us restaurants, an excursion to meknes and a hammam.
Nothing is too much trouble for the manager and maid. Just ask. Incidentally the wi fi is very good in the rooms, downstairs, and up on the roof.
We used the large fridge in the kitchen for our cold drinks and we did a bit of washing ( which dried quickly on the sunny rooftop terrace). We sat there a lot as it has two areas of shade covered sofas, and a view of the merenid tombs on the hill.
Plentiful breakfast is included, served in the beautiful tiled courtyard and we often took a second coffee up to the roof whilst planning our day.
Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. We especially hung out at fondouk bazaar just 5 mins walk away. The guest house will cook dinner for you if you want - but give them notice.

The stay was pleasant and the breakfast abundant and tasty. The host makes sure you arrive well and enjoy the experience at the dar. The dar itself is outstanding and ancient in the core of the old medina of Fes. It is perfect if you want to visit Fes for a couple of days and wish to explore the city by foot.

Gem of a guesthouse in FES’ famed Medina

Used the simple, but very well run and clean guesthouse to explore Fes. Kibir, who manages the guesthouse for a UK owner, could not have been more attentive and helpful. Single room with en-suite in a quiet street off the main thoroughfare of the famed Medina. Some of the rooms grander and very spacious. Good value. Substantial breakfast with a few Moroccan twists. Hope to use again in April.

Wonderful property for the price situated in the heart of the Medina. The manager, Kiber, was very helpful in making my stay comfortable and safe. Breakfast was delicious.
