Lovely Vintage, Upgraded Hotel

Lovely vintage hotel located on Marketplatz, the prime pedestrian area of old Basel. Within walking distance of numerous tourist sites, my husband and I greatly enjoyed the immediate area, which offered restaurants and shopping, plus access to public transportation.
Our large room had been modernized with an exceptionally comfortable bed and linens.
We stayed in Room 312, which provided views of the neighborhood and pretty architecture.
Opt for the abundant and delicious buffet breakfast, served in their restaurant Bohemia, where we also indulged in a tasty dinner.

If you are traveling for Christmas market .. it’s a great choice ,, walking distance only

This was an amazing hotel. From the time we were greeted to the time we left. They helped us with renting E-Bikes and gave us a map. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The restaurant and breakfast in the morning was wonderful. I would highly recommend staying there.

One of the best 5 star hotels in Basel.

We stayed at this beautiful five-star hotel in downtown Basel in late March 2025 and had a wonderful stay. I am lucky enough to only stay at five star resorts and stayed at many during my Europe trip and this was one of the better experiences that we had. It’s almost like a boutique hotel but still done in the traditional way. The location is really prime and is walking distance to many of the famous sites in Basel. It’s also right near the trolley stop so hopping on and off that is extremely easy. The room sizes are very large and done well and you can tell that it has been recently renovated. The staff that we encountered was all very polite and helpful. The restaurant attached to the hotel has a great breakfast and we really enjoyed every meal that we had there. Given that it was a colder time of the year the rooftop was not active however, it was possible to go up there and get great views of the entire city. I feel that the pricing is fair for a five-star hotel and would honestly recommend to anyone who is visiting this beautiful city.
