NOSTALGIA AND HISTORICAL PLACE

A friendly place that smells of history.
The owners are friendly, natural people.
A spotlessly clean, nostalgic room that reminds me of my childhood home.
I recommend it to those who love nostalgia.
Centrally located in Demre, at the foot of the ancient city of Santa Claus and Myra.

Comfortable stay in a historic building.

Bayraktar Konağı is in the centre of Demre (Kale), an easy walk to St Nicholas Church and several cafes. If you follow the signs for Myra Antik Kenti from the main road (D400) you will go through central Demre and pass Bayraktar Konağı which is next to a filling station. There is parking on the forecourt of the filling station and in the street.
Air conditioning worked well and the shower room was adequate with plenty of warm water. Everything was clean. The welcome was warm. The price was good value.
This historic building is a point of interest in itself. Furniture and decoration makes it a living museum, a comfortable living museum. The history is explained in leaflets.
Building work started in 1940 and was finished in 1963. At that time there was no road connection to Demre so building materials were brought from Izmir by sea. Wood came down from the cedar forests around Elmalı. The Bayraktaroğlu family lived in the building until 2019. In 2012 the building was taken under the protection of Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Ministry, restored to original form and opened for tourism.

very good location the hotel is located in a very good location close to all the sights of other places to eat. The hotel is made in the old style looks very cool, the room has all shower / toilet, air conditioning. The price is also not high the room can accommodate up to 3 people for this price a good choice.

Staying historical house in Demre

From check in to check out, everything is very smooth. All stuff are very kind. My room is large and clean. And beautifully decorated with antique furniture. AC and wifi worked well. Breakfast was tasty. I will be back here again next time :)
